In this paper, we present an algorithm to estimate a signal from its modified short-time Fourier transform (STFT. [] Key Method Using this algorithm, we also develop an iterative algorithm to estimate a signal from its modified STFT magnitude. The iterative algorithm is shown to decrease, in each iteration, the mean squared error between the STFT magnitude of the estimated signal and the modified STFT magnitude. The major computation involved in the iterative algorithm is the discrete Fourier transform (DFT…

Real-Time Signal Estimation From Modified Short-Time Fourier Transform Magnitude Spectra

TLDR
An algorithm for estimating signals from short-time magnitude spectra is introduced offering a significant improvement in quality and efficiency over current methods, and is applied to audio time-scale and pitch modification and compared to classical algorithms for these tasks on a variety of signal types.

Least squares estimate of the initial phases in STFT based speech enhancement

TLDR
Simulations on synthetic and speech signals show a decreased error on the phase when an estimate of the initial phase is included compared to using the noisy phase as an initialisation.

Iterative reconstruction of speech from short-time Fourier transform phase and magnitude spectra

Aalborg Universitet Least Squares Estimate of the Initial Phases in STFT based Speech Enhancement

In this paper, we consider single-channel speech enhancement in the short time Fourier transform (STFT) domain. We suggest to improve an STFT phase estimate by estimating the initial phases. The

Speech synthesis from short-time Fourier transform magnitude and its application to speech processing

TLDR
For the applications of speech synthesis from speech model parameters, time-scale modification of clean speech, speech enhancement by spectral subtraction, and helium speech enhancement, significant improvement is not gained by using the LSEE-MSTFTM algorithm.

Algorithms for signal reconstruction from short-time Fourier transform magnitude

TLDR
This paper discusses a class of algorithms which reconstruct the short-time sections of a signal in an order determined by their positions on the time axis within the framework of sequential extrapolation techniques and finds that compared to direct reconstruction, the robust algorithms are less sensitive to roundoff errors.

A novel speech reconstruction algorithm for DSR back-end

TLDR
The algorithm evaluation results show that the proposed Extended LSE-ISTFTM algorithm converges faster and more stable than the classic algorithm, and speech reconstruction results demonstrate that PESQ score of the proposed algorithm is higher than theclassic L SE-IST FTM algorithm and the DSR back-end method.

New Approaches for Speech Enhancement in the Short-Time Fourier Transform Domain

TLDR
Quality and noise reduction performance evaluations indicated the superiority of the proposed speech STSA estimation with respect to the previous estimators, and the presented approach provides a good reduction in implementation complexity.

Frequency sampling of the short-time Fourier-transform magnitude for signal reconstruction

Unique recovery of a signal from the magnitude (modulus) of the Fourier transform has been of long-standing interest in image and optical processing in which Fourier-transform phase is lost or
