A crystalline Raman laser is pumped at 90° to the Raman laser axis by a single pass from a line-focused 532 nm pump laser of pulse duration 10 ns. The Raman laser threshold was 6.1 mJ, and at 12 mJ pump energy, a maximum output energy of 2.7 mJ was obtained with a slope efficiency of 46%. The threshold pump intensity is within a factor of 2 of the same device when end-pumped. The results highlight significant potential for coherent beam conversion and combination with enhanced degrees of…

LD-side-pumped Nd:YVO4 self-Raman laser at 1176 nm
We demonstrate a diode-side-pumped Nd:YVO4 self-Raman laser at 1176 nm in a grazing incidence configuration operating in quasi-continuous mode. More than 8 W of output power was achieved in multimode
Thermal lens evolution and compensation in a high power KGW Raman laser.
TLDR
It is shown that the likely cause for astigmatism is primarily photo-elastic in origin and was achieved by incorporating an intracavity convex cylindrical lens.

Scaling Diamond Raman Lasers and Beam Combiners into the Kilowatt, Thermally Affected, Regime
Diamond is a nonlinear optical material with outstanding potential for high-power nonlinear beam manipulation including wavelength shifting, brightness enhancement and beam combination. Although
High Power Diamond Raman Lasers
Laser gain materials possessing high thermal conductivity and robust mechanical properties are key prerequisites for high power lasers. We show that diamond, when configured as a Raman laser, enables
Recent Progress in Diamond Raman Lasers
In its relatively short history as a Raman laser material, CVD diamond has already demonstrated to be a forerunner in performance. Yet the more outstanding properties of the material such as its high

Highly efficient diamond Raman laser.
TLDR
An efficient 532 nm pumped external cavity diamond Raman laser generating output chiefly at the 573 nm first Stokes is reported, commensurate with the highest previously reported for other Raman materials pumped by Q-switched lasers.
Observation in wave-number space of pump-beam replication in stimulated Raman scattering.
TLDR
Experiments show that a moderate level of pump-beam aberrations can give rise to beam replication, i.e., Stokes generation along the paths of the pump beams, which confirms that scintillation is primarily responsible for beam replication.
Pump Replication In Stimulated Raman Scattering Using A Crossed-Beam Geometry
A theory of side beam replication in a crossing-beam geometry is reported. It is shown that side beam replication is not expected to occur when the Fresnel number of the aberrations (FNA) is large,
Theory of Stimulated Brillouin and Raman Scattering
Stimulated Raman and Brillouin scattering can be described as the interaction of several light waves with optical and acoustic-phonon waves, respectively. The coupling parameters can be derived both
