Male albino rats of Wistar strain were submitted to a vitamin A deficient diet and to this diet supplemented with 250 IU of vitamin A acetate. Vitamin A was not detected in the liver of the experimental animal, by the method used in the present investigation. Two experiments were carried out, one with ad libitum food intake and the other with pair-fed animals.
