Aims. We attempt to increase the number of trans-Neptunian objects (TNOs) whose short-term variability has been studied and compile a high quality database with the least possible biases, which may be used to perform statistical analyses. Methods. We performed broadband CCD photometric observations using several telescopes (the 1.5 m telescope at Sierra Nevada Observatory, the 2.2 m Calar Alto telescope and the 2.5 m INT on La Palma). Results. We present the results of 6 years of observations…

Rotational properties of the binary and non-binary populations in the Trans-Neptunian belt

We present results for the short-term variability of Binary Trans-Neptunian Objects (BTNOs). We performed CCD photometric observations using the 3.58 m Telescopio Nazionale Galileo, the 1.5 m Sierra

Short‐term variability of 10 trans‐Neptunian objects

We present our latest results about the short-term variability of trans-Neptunian objects (TNOs). We performed broad-band CCD photometric observations using several telescopes in Spain and Chile. We

Photometry and taxonomy of trans-Neptunian objects and Centaurs in support of a Herschel key program

Context. The investigation of Centaurs and trans-Neptunian objects (TNOs) provides essential information about the early conditions and evolution of the outer solar system. The radiometric technique

OSSOS. XII. Variability Studies of 65 Trans-Neptunian Objects Using the Hyper Suprime-Cam

We present variability measurements and partial light curves of trans-Neptunian objects (TNOs) from a two-night pilot study using Hyper Suprime-Cam (HSC) on the Subaru Telescope (Maunakea, Hawaii,

A mid-term astrometric and photometric study of trans-Neptunian object (90482) Orcus

From time series CCD observations of a fixed and large star field that contained the binary trans-Neptunian object (90482) Orcus (formerly 2004 DW), taken during a period of 33 days, we have been

"TNOs are Cool": A survey of the trans-Neptunian region. XI. A Herschel-PACS view of 16 Centaurs

Context. Centaurs are the transitional population between trans-Neptunian objects (TNOs) and Jupiter-family comets. Their physical properties provide an insight into TNO properties, but only under

Long-term photometric monitoring of the dwarf planet (136472) Makemake

Aims. We studied the rotational properties of the dwarf planet Makemake. Methods. The photometric observations were carried out at different telescopes between 2006 and 2017. Most of the measurements

“TNOs are Cool”: A survey of the trans-Neptunian region

Context. A group of trans-Neptunian objects (TNOs) are dynamically related to the dwarf planet 136108 Haumea. Ten of them show strong indications of water ice on their surfaces, are assumed to have

The Trans-Neptunian Object (84922) 2003 VS2 through Stellar Occultations

We present results from three world-wide campaigns that resulted in the detections of two single-chord and one multi-chord stellar occultations by the plutino object (84922) 2003 VS2. From the

We present observations of 32 primarily bright, newly discovered Transneptunian objects (TNOs) observable from the Southern Hemisphere during 39 nights of observation with the Irénée du Pont 2.5 m

Short-term rotational variability of eight KBOs from Sierra Nevada Observatory

In 2001, we started a CCD photometry programme to study the short-term variability of some of the brightest TNOs and Centaurs from the Sierra Nevada observatory. In this paper, we report our latest

Short-term rotational variability in the large TNO 2005FY9

Context. Despite the fact that 2005FY 9 is one of the largest trans-Neptunian objects (TNOs) and a dwarf planet candidate, little is known about this object apart from constraints on its surface

A study of Trans-Neptunian object 55636 (2002 TX300)

We report on physical properties of the bright Trans-Neptunian Object 2003 TX300 based on a large set of observa- tions taken in different wavelength ranges. Broad band CCD observations aimed at

Physical Properties of Trans-Neptunian Object (20000) Varuna

We present new time-resolved photometric observations of the bright trans-Neptunian object (20000) Varuna and use them to study the rotation period, shape, and color. In observations from 2001

Rotational properties of Centaurs and Trans-Neptunian Objects - Lightcurves and densities

Context. The knowledge of the rotational periods of the small bodies in the outer Solar System is a useful tool for retrieving information on the internal structure of the observed objects and for

A study of short term rotational variability in TNOs and Centaurs from Sierra Nevada Observatory

Broad band CCD observations focused on short-term rotational variability have been carried out for six TNOs: 1999 TD 1 0 , 1999 TC 3 6 , 2000 EB 1 7 3 , (20000) Varuna, (28978) Ixion, 2002 CR 4 6 ,

Transneptunian objects and Centaurs from light curves

Aims. We compile and analyze an extended database of light curve parameters scattered in the literature to search for correlations and study physical properties, including internal structure

Physical survey of 24 Centaurs with visible photometry

Hawaii Kuiper Belt Variability Project: An Update

We have been systematically monitoring a large sample of bright Kuiper Beltobjects for possible light variations due to rotational and phase angle effects. Here we report on three objects, 2003 AZ84,
