Short-term climate change and New Zealand temperatures during the last millennium
@article{Wilson1979ShorttermCC, title={Short-term climate change and New Zealand temperatures during the last millennium}, author={A. T. Wilson and Chris H. Hendy and C. Reynolds}, journal={Nature}, year={1979}, volume={279}, pages={315-317} }
MANY theories have been proposed to explain the climatic fluctuations which produced the sequence of glacial–interglacial periods of the order of tens of thousands of years which have occurred throughout the Quaternary. These fluctuations represent temperature changes in the temperate regions of about 6 °C between a glacial and an interglacial situation. There are also climatic fluctuations with a period of the order of about a thousand years representing temperature changes of about 2 °C…

Reconstructing Climatic and Environmental Changes of the Past 1000 Years: A Reappraisal
- Environmental Science, Geography
- 2003
The 1000-year climatic and environmental history of the Earth contained in various proxy records is examined. As indicators, the proxies duly represent or record aspects of local climate. Questions…

Downcore diatom data from a deep basin in Granite Harbor, Antarctica, provide new, high-resolution information concerning changes in oceanographic and depositional processes that have occurred during…
Late Holocene depositional episodes in coastal New Zealand
- Environmental Science, Geology
- 1989
During the Late Holocene, three quarters of the forest cover was progressively cleared by burning, but there was no apparent correlation with increased instability in sand dune areas, so the depositional episodes are considered to be independent of human influence.
