Short-period rms fluctuations δBrms in the interplanetary magnetic field have been derived from Advanced Composition Explorer/MAG data for 50 solar rotations between 1998 and 2001. We find that in many cases, individual maxima in δBrms are associated with local minima in the Alfven speed VAlf.
