The taxonomic position of a novel bacterial strain, Ch06T, isolated from an upflow anaerobic sludge blanket reactor was determined. Strain Ch06T was Gram-negative, aerobic, motile and oxidase- and catalase-positive. A comparative 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis showed a clear affiliation of strain Ch06T to the Alphaproteobacteria and it was most closely related to Zoogloea ramigera ATCC 19623 and Mycoplana dimorpha IAM 13154T (97.9 and 96.3% sequence similarity, respectively). The major…

TLDR
The results of the genotypic analyses in combination with chemotaxonomic and physiological data demonstrated that strain Ko04(T) represents a novel species within the genus Kaistia, for which the nameKaistia granuli sp.
Shinella daejeonensis sp. nov., a nitrate-reducing bacterium isolated from sludge of a leachate treatment plant.
TLDR
Strain MJ02(T) is considered to represent a novel species of the genus Shinella on the basis of several phenotypic, genotypic and chemotaxonomic features and is proposed as Shinella daejeonensis sp.

TLDR
Several phenotypic characteristics, including the use of citrate and d-ribose as carbon sources and growth at pH 11.0, could differentiate CCBAU 25048(T) from the two defined Shinella species, therefore, a novel species Shinella kummerowiae sp.

Sphingopyxis granuli sp. nov., a beta-glucosidase-producing bacterium in the family Sphingomonadaceae in alpha-4 subclass of the Proteobacteria.
TLDR
DNA-DNA hybridization and physiological and biochemical tests clearly demonstrated that strain Kw07T represents a distinct species and should be classified as the type strain for a novel Sphingopyxis species, for which the name Sphingopexis granuli sp.
Paracoccus koreensis sp. nov., isolated from anaerobic granules in an upflow anaerobic sludge blanket (UASB) reactor.
TLDR
The results of DNA-DNA hybridization and physiological and biochemical tests allowed genotypic and phenotypic differentiation of strain Ch05(T) from the 17 Paracoccus species with validly published names, which represents a novel species, for which the name ParACoccus koreensis sp.
Towards a standardized format for the description of a novel species (of an established genus): Ochrobactrum gallinifaecis sp. nov.
A format for the description of single novel species is proposed, which should facilitate the reviewing process by assisting the provision of data in a standardized form. The abstract must be short
Zoogloea ramigera: A phylogenetically diverse species
TLDR
Differences in their 16S rRNA sequences, in phenotypic and chemotaxonomic properties indicate that Z. ramigera strains ATCC 19544 and ATCC 25935 should be placed in different species.
Molecular systematics of the genus Zoogloea and emendation of the genus.
TLDR
The generic description of Zoogloea has been emended on the basis of the molecular data, together with the early phenotypic and chemotaxonomic information, that showed that typical Zoog Chloea strains, characterized by their production of rhodoquinones, are highly related to each other and can be regarded as a single species.
