We study the shadows of disformal black holes in vector-tensor Galileons modified gravity. Our analysis shows that the apparent image of the black hole in the observer's sky is non-spherical and cuspy, which is in contrast to the Kerr and Kerr-Newman cases. The non-trivial silhouette of the apparent image of the black hole provides novel templates for the current astrophysical observations. Moreover, due to the non-minimal coupling of the vector field to gravity the disformal black hole…

Shadows of Kerr-like black holes in a modified gravity theory

In this paper, the shadows cast by non-rotating and rotating modified gravity black holes are investigated. In addition to the black hole spin parameter a and the inclination angle θ of observer,

Shadow of Non-singular Rotating Magnetic Monopole in Perfect Fluid Dark matter

Bardeen proposed a gravitationally collapsing magnetic monopole black hole solution that is free of singularity. In this article, we have studied the size and shape of the rotating Bardeen black hole

Shadow cast of noncommutative black holes in Rastall gravity

We study the shadow and energy emission rate of a spherically symmetric noncommutative black hole in Rastall gravity. Depending on the model parameters, the noncommutative black hole can reduce to

Shadow cast and deflection angle of Kerr-Newman-Kasuya spacetime

We study the shadow cast or silhouette generated by a Kerr-Newman-Kasuya (KNK) spacetime (rotating dyon black hole). It is shown that in addition to the angular momentum of the black hole, the dyon

Study of circular geodesics and shadow of rotating charged black hole surrounded by perfect fluid dark matter immersed in plasma

In this work, we consider a rotating charged black hole surrounded by perfect fluid dark matter. We consider the system to be immersed in non-magnetised, pressureless plasma. First, we evaluate the

Multiple shadows from distorted static black holes

We study the local shadow of the Schwarzschild black hole with a quadrupole distortion and the influence of the external gravitational field on the photon dynamics. The external matter sources modify

Possibility of identifying matter around rotating black hole with black hole shadow

Shadows cast by the rotating black hole in perfect fluid matter are studied using analytical method. We consider three kinds of matter with standard equation of state in Cosmology: −1/3 (dark

Asymptotic safety casts its shadow

We set out to bridge the gap between regular black-hole spacetimes and observations of a black-hole shadow by the Event Horizon Telescope. We explore modifications of spinning and non-spinning

Black hole shadow of Sgr A* in dark matter halo

We study, for the first time, the shadow of the supermassive black hole Sgr A* at the center of the Milky Way in dark matter halos. For the Cold Dark Matter and Scalar Field Dark Matter models

Rotating black hole shadow in perfect fluid dark matter

We study analytically the shadow cast by the rotating black hole in the perfect fluid dark matter. The apparent shape of the shadow depends upon the black hole spin a and the perfect fluid dark

Null geodesics and shadow of a rotating black hole in extended Chern-Simons modified gravity

The Chern-Simons modification to general relativity in four dimensions consists of adding to the Einstein-Hilbert term a scalar field that couples to the first-class Pontryagin density. In this

Shadows of rotating five-dimensional charged EMCS black holes

Higher-dimensional theories admit astrophysical objects like supermassive black holes, which are rather different from standard ones, and their gravitational lensing features deviate from general

Black hole shadows in fourth-order conformal Weyl gravity

We calculate the characteristics of the “black hole shadow” for a rotating, neutral black hole in fourth-order conformal Weyl gravity. It is shown that the morphology is not significantly affected by

Shadow of a rotating braneworld black hole

We investigate the shadow cast by a rotating braneworld black hole, in the Randall-Sundrum scenario. In addition to the angular momentum, the tidal charge term deforms the shape of the shadow. For a

Hairy black-hole solutions in generalized Proca theories

We present a family of exact black-hole solutions on a static spherically symmetric background in second-order generalized Proca theories with derivative vector-field interactions coupled to gravity.

Shadow of noncommutative geometry inspired black hole

In this paper, the shadow casted by the rotating black hole inspired by noncommutative geometry is investigated. In addition to the dimensionless spin parameter a/M0 with M0 black hole mass and

Shadow of five-dimensional rotating Myers-Perry black hole

A black hole casts a shadow as an optical appearance because of its strong gravitational field. We study the shadow cast by the five-dimensional Myers-Perry black hole with equal rotation parameters.
