Sex differences in competitiveness, the valuation of money, and the importance attached to saving money were examined among university students in 20 countries, using questionnaires. In general, the men obtained higher mean scores than the women did. Scores on the trait questionnaires were generally positively intercorrelated, suggesting the presence of a single trait underlying the sex difference.
