BACKGROUND During recent years, various mumps outbreaks have occurred among measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccinated persons in various countries worldwide, including the Netherlands. We studied mumps virus shedding in MMR vaccinated and unvaccinated mumps patients and related these findings to clinical data.
