Severe thymic hyperplasia in a newborn calf associated with impaired T-cell differentiation.


A 1-day-old female Holstein-Friesian calf was presented for severe dyspnea. Physical examination revealed respiratory distress, moderate edema of the ventral neck, and swollen jugular veins.
