  • SummaryIt has been shown that fatal “poisoning” with the mushroom speciesPaxillus involutus is caused by antibodies against the fungus in sensitized patients. Because circulating immune complexes play an important role, therapeutic procedures which can eliminate those complexes could stop immune hemolysis.
