Fixed alternative routing algorithms are currently used for call establishment in voice communication systems of air traffic services. Under certain conditions, the standar dized routing scheme create suboptimal routing decisions. A simp le extension of the currently used algorithm prevents routes f rom being selected during call setup, if the particular route has recently been used for an unsuccessful call setup.
