2 Abstract: This study was carried out to determine the seroprevalence of Helicobacter pylori infection among patients with gastritis and peptic ulcer disease (PUD) in Kaduna state and to assess the frequency and association of the ABO blood group factor with H. pylori infection. A total of two hundred and twenty five (225) blood samples were collected from patients attending the Out Patient Department of three government hospitals in Kaduna State, diagnosed for gastritis and PUD. Seroprevalence of Helicobacter pylori infection in patients with non-ulcer dyspepsia in Zaria metropolis
TLDR
The overall prevalence H. pylori infection among dyspeptic patients in this study strongly correlates with congested household crowding, poor hand hygiene, low level of education and socioeconomic status.
PREVALENCE OF HELICOBACTER PYLORI INFECTION IN PATIENTS WITH ACID PEPTIC DISORDERS
TLDR
High prevalence of H. pylori infection in patients with acid peptic disorder patients was found to be 59% and the infection was not associated with age, sex and place of residence.
PREVALENCE OF HELICOBACTER PYLORI INFECTION WITH PEPTIC ULCER DISEASES IN IRAQI PATIENTS
TLDR
The high prevalence of H. pylori with gastric ulcer was found in the elderly and the high prevalence in males with duodenal ulcers was found, suggesting that age, gender, and types of peptic ulcer have an impact on the prevalence of the disease.
Prevalence and Possible Risk Factors for Helicobacter pylori Seropositivity among Peptic Ulcerative Individuals in Nnewi Nigeria
TLDR
The results show that H. pylori is high among peptic ulcerative individuals in Nnewi and also, increased levels of interferon gamma may contribute to the development of H.pylori associated diseases.
Relationship between ABO blood groups and Helicobacter. pylori infection among patients with dyspepsia
TLDR
The aim of this study was detection of H. pylori infection in patients with various gastrointestinal symptoms as related t o blood groups and Rhesus factor and results showed that 66.5%, 69.5, 71% and 67.5% of patients were positive for H.pylori infections.
Management of Helicobacter pylori Induced Acid Peptic Disorders: An Institutional Study
TLDR
Assessing the clinical features, diagnosis, treatment and response of H. pylori infection in patients with acid peptic disorders was done in order to find out the natural history of the disease and better management plan.
Screening for Helicobacter Pylori Infection among Undergraduate Students of a Tertiary Institution using serum Antibody and Stool Antigen Detection Methods
TLDR
Data is provided on the existence of Helicobacter Pylori infection among students of Babcock University, hence the need for public awareness and clinical management in this regard and on the basis of age, the prevalence of HelicOBacter P Kylori infection was found to be significantly higher among participants that were 21-25 years old when compared to other age groups.
CORRELATION OF SERUM ANTI-HELICOBACTER PYLORI IMMUNOGLOBULIN A (IGA) WITH HISTOLOGICAL PARAMETERS OF CHRONIC GASTRITIS IN IBADAN, NIGERIA
TLDR
Serum IgA status may be associated with milder degrees of gastritis in patients but a larger cohort of patients is needed to confirm this, and there seems to be a good agreement between serum IgA and CagA statuses among dyspeptic patients.
Helicobacter pylori Pathogenicity-Associated cagA and vacA Genotypes Among Nigerian Dyspeptic Patients
TLDR
The pathogenicity-associated virulence genes present in Nigerian dyspeptic patients were moderate types, suggesting that the endemicity of the disease may not necessarily lead to high rate of fatal outcomes or treatment failures as reported in other parts of the world.
Assessing the Reliability of PCR, Microbiological and Histologic Methods inDetecting Helicobacter pylori in Gastric Biopsies
TLDR
All the test methods used in the study had a significant agreement with PCR which was used as the gold standard except ELISA and culture.

Helicobacter pylori infection in South Nigerians: a serological study of dyspeptic patients and healthy individuals.
TLDR
A high rate of Hpylori infection in this locality as reported in previous serological studies in this country and some other developing countries supports the assertion that H. pylori exerts its influence in concert with other environmental factors as well as social and genetic factors.
Helicobacter pylori and peptic ulcer disease.
The role played by Helicobacter pylori in the pathogenesis of peptic ulcer disease (PUD) is discussed, and the epidemiology, identification, diagnosis, eradication, and treatment of H. pylori
Upper gastrointestinal findings and incidence of Helicobacter pylori infection among Nigerian patients with dyspepsia.
TLDR
This study shows that H. pylori plays an important role in the aetiopathogenesis of peptic ulcer disease among Nigerian patients and that the diagnosis of anterior and pyloric channel Duus or gastroesophageal polyp disease may be an indicator of massive H.pylori infection.
H. pylori, the most common bacterial infection in Africa: a random serological study.
TLDR
This study was carried out to determine the prevalence of antibodies to Helicobacter pylori in northern Nigeria, a region with a low incidence of peptic ulceration, and found that H.pylori is not important in the etiology of peptide ulcer in this population, suggesting that most patients infected by H. pylory are asymptomatic.
A study of the pathogenesis of Helicobacter pylori negative chronic duodenal ulceration.
TLDR
Three abnormalities of gastric function are prevalent in patients with H pylori negative idiopathic DU disease - hypergastrinaemia, increased acid secretion, and the one feature distinguishing them from H pylonori positive patients with DU - rapid gastric emptying of both liquids and solids.
[Prevalence of Helicobacter pylori infection in duodenal ulcer. Data of a prospective study apropos of 78 NSAID-negative patients with duodenal ulcer].
TLDR
Helicobacter pylori infection is still high among patients with a non complicated duodenal ulcer and not using non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs suggesting an empirical Helicobacterpylori eradication therapy in this group of patients.
Dyspepsia symptoms and Helicobacter pylori infection, Nakuru, Kenya.
TLDR
H. pylori test-and-treat strategy should be considered in Kenyan patients with dyspepsia, particularly in persons <30 years of age, as well as in asymptomatic residents of Nakuru, Kenya.
Helicobacter pylori
TLDR
Advances in the detection of the presence of the organism and methods of differentiating among types of H. pylori are highlighted, and a background for appropriate chemotherapy of the infection is provided.
Helicobacter pylori-negative duodenal ulcer.
TLDR
Although the most common causal factor of duodenal ulcer is HP, some 6% of DU's will be HP-negative, signaling unusual etiology, it is now important to identify the cause of DU so as to initiate appropriate therapy.
Helicobacter pylori and peptic ulcer.
TLDR
Sucralfate can be successfully substituted for bismuth in triple therapy regimens with documented efficacy and few side effects and is suggested to reduce H. pylori density and enhance the action of antibiotics used in eradication regimens.
