The nominal composition of Sr0.39CoO2, prepared by a low-temperature ion exchange technique, has been systematically studied by transmission electron microscopy, energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy (EDX), and electron-energy-loss spectroscopy (EELS). Besides a well-defined root 3 and a(p) x root 3a(p) modulated structure, a series of long periodic modulated structures (n root 3a(p) x 3a(p)) was revealed by high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) in some microzones, which are…

Synthesis and physical properties of layered Ba(x)CoO₂.
The magnetic susceptibility of Ba(x)CoO2 decreases with increasing barium content and shows a Curie-Weiss-like behavior at temperatures above 50 K and the resistivity is sensitive to the bariumcontent.
Direct observations of Ca ordering in Ca0.33CoO2 thin films with different superstructures
Ca-ion superstructures such as 3a×3a (hexagonal) and 2a×3a (orthorhombic) in layered Ca0.33CoO2 crystalline film, which were prepared by the reactive solid-phase epitaxy and the subsequent
Low-Temperature Magnetic and Thermoelectric Properties of Layered Ca(0.33)CoO(2) Crystals
Ca 0.33 CoO 2 crystals have been prepared by a low-temperature ion-exchange technique from layered Na 0.50 CoO 2 precursor crystals and characterized by X-ray diffraction, magnetic susceptibility,

Low-temperature synthesis and electric properties of new layered cobaltite, SrxCoO2
A new layered strontium cobaltite, SrxCoO2, was synthesized by a low-temperature ion-exchange technique from a γ-Na0.7CoO2 precursor. The strontium content was determined to be x = 0.345 by
Low-temperature magnetic and transport properties of layered SrxCoO2
A series of polycrystalline samples of SrxCoO2 (0.15 <= x <= 0.40) have been prepared by a low-temperature ion exchange technique. These SrxCoO2 samples are isomorphic to NaxCoO2 with the hexagonal
Crystal structure, electric and magnetic properties of layered cobaltite β-NaxCoO2
Abstract The layered oxide thermoelectric material β -Na 0.67 CoO 2 has been studied by powder neutron diffraction, electric and magnetic measurements. This compound includes an edge-sharing CoO 6
Topotactic routes to layered calcium cobalt oxides
Abstract Four CaxCoO2(0.26≤x≤0.50) oxides have been synthesized by the low-temperature ion exchange of layered NaxCoO2oxides. The CaxCoO2structures all consist of [CoO2]nsheets of edge-sharing
Spin entropy as the likely source of enhanced thermopower in NaxCo2O4
The finding—that spin-entropy dominates the enhancement of thermopower in transition-metal oxides—for the search for better Peltier materials is discussed.
