Matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOFMS) was used to sequence modified oligonucelotides (MONs). Under delayed pulsed ion extraction conditions, sequence ions of MONs resulting from fragmentation within the ion source can be observed.
