Lymphocytes and fibroblasts from people with Bloom syndrome, an autosomal recessive disorder associated with a predisposition to a wide variety of cancers, are known to be hypersensitive to ethylating agents as measured by sister chromatid exchange induction. Recently, hypersensitivity to cell killing by mitomycin C has also been reported in Bloom syndrome fibroblasts from three donors.
