In this paper we constructed a semi-realistic cosmological model in a dynamic domain wall framework. Our universe is considered to be a (3+1) dimensional dynamic domain wall in a higher dimensional Einstein-Maxwell-Born-Infeld background. One of our interesting outcomes from the effective Hubble equation for the domain wall dynamics is that it contains an additional component of "dark matter" which is induced from the charge of the bulk Born-Infeld gauge field. In this background spacetime we…

Dynamical foundations of the brane-induced gravity

We present a comprehensive formalism to derive precise expressions for the induced gravity of the braneworld, assuming the dynamics of the Dirac–Nambu–Goto type. The quantum fluctuations of the brane

Thin Shells in General Relativity Without Junction Conditions: a Model for Galactic Rotation and the Discrete Sampling of Fields

Interest in general relativistic treatments of thin matter shells has flourished over recent decades, most notably in connection with astrophysical and cosmological applications such as black hole

Domain walls in a Born-Infeld-dilaton background

We study the dynamics of domain walls in the Einstein-Bom-Infeld-dilaton theory. A dilaton is nontrivially coupled with the Bom-Infeld electromagnetic field. We find three different types of

Dynamic domain walls in a Maxwell-dilaton background

Motivated by the well-known Chamblin-Reall solutions of n-dimensional background spacetime in a dilaton gravity and the dynamics of a domain wall in the same backgrounds, we have tried to generalize

Bouncing cosmology in three dimensions

We consider a dynamical two-brane in a four-dimensional black hole background with scalar hair. At high temperature this black hole goes through a phase transition by radiating away the scalar. The

Bouncing cosmology from Kalb-Ramond braneworld

We consider a 3-brane embedded in a warped 5-dimensional background with a dilaton and a Kalb-Ramond 2-form. We show that it is possible to find static solutions of the form of the charged

Bouncing Braneworld with Born-Infeld and Gauss-Bonnet

We show the existence of some bouncing cosmological solutions in the braneworld scenario. More specifically, we consider a dynamical three-brane in the background of Born-Infeld and electrically

Bouncing cosmological solutions and their stability

In the present paper we consider the bouncing braneworld scenario, in which the bulk is given by a five-dimensional charged AdS black hole spacetime with matter field confined in a $D_3$ brane. Then,
