We study the dynamical properties of semiflexible polymers with a recently introduced bead-spring model. We focus on double-stranded DNA. The two parameters of the model, $T^*$ and $\nu$, are chosen to match its experimental force-extension curve. The bead-spring Hamiltonian is approximated in the first order by the Hessian that is quadratic in the bead positions. The eigenmodels of the Hessian provide the longitudinal (stretching) and transverse (bending) eigenmodes of the polymer, and the… Expand

Dynamics of single semiflexible polymers in dilute solution.
While in the limit of fully flexible chains the visibility of the anomalous diffusion behavior is thus rather restricted, the t3/4 power law predicted for stiff chains without hydrodynamic interactions is verified and evidence for the predicted [tln(t)]3/ 4 behavior is obtained. Expand
Equilibrium Dynamics and Shear Rheology of Semiflexible Polymers in Solution
We study the structure and dynamics of semidilute solutions of semiflexible polymers at rest and under shear using hybrid molecular dynamics simulations that take hydrodynamic interactions intoExpand

We perform molecular-dynamics simulations for polymer melts of the coarse-grained polyvinyl alcohol model that crystallizes upon slow cooling. To establish the properties of its high temperatureExpand
Static and dynamic properties of a semiflexible polymer in a crowded environment with randomly distributed immobile nanoparticles.
The translational diffusion and rotation of the polymer are retarded by the NPs, and the rotational relaxation time τR of the semiflexible polymer increases faster with an increase in εPN or CNP than that of the fully flexible polymer. Expand
Primacy and ranking of UEFA soccer teams from biasing organization rules
The notion of the Sheppard primacy index is envisaged to describe the findings and a very simplified toy model containing components of the UEFA ranking rules suggests that such peer classes are an extrinsic property of the ranking, as obtained in many nonlinear systems under boundary condition constraints. A model for the dynamics of extensible semiflexible polymers
We present a model for semiflexible polymers in Hamiltonian formulation which interpolates between a Rouse chain and worm-like chain. Both models are realized as limits for the parameters. The modelExpand
Pulling-speed-dependent force-extension profiles for semiflexible chains.
The theory and simulations to describe nonequilibrium stretching of semiflexible chains that serve as models of DNA molecules show that, at high enough pulling speeds, the propagation of tension along the chain conformations transverse to the applied force occurs by the Brochard-Wyart's stem-flower mechanism. Frequency-dependent stiffening of semiflexible networks: a dynamical nonaffine to affine transition.
It is found that at low frequencies the network deformations are highly nonaffine, and show a low plateau in the modulus, and at higher frequencies, this nonaffinity decreases while the elastic modulus increases, which may determine nonlinear material properties at low, physiologically relevant frequencies. Relaxation dynamics of semiflexible polymers.
Using a tension that is self-consistently determined, this work obtains the evolution of the end-to-end distance with no free parameters in a semiflexible chain. Expand

Stretching dynamics of semiflexible polymers
A newly developed unified theory is employed to systematically substantiate, restrict, and extend various scaling laws for the propagation speed of the backbone tension which is induced in response to stretching. Expand

Triple minima in the free energy of semiflexible polymers.
As the authors change the stiffness parameter, t=L/lambda, the polymer makes a transition from the flexible to the rigid phase and there is an intermediate regime of parameter values where the free energy has three minima and both phases are stable, which leads to interesting features in the force-extension curves.
