We discuss the mechanisms of photon-photon fusion triggering the dilepton production in proton-proton collisions with rapidity gap in the main detector and one forward proton in the forward proton detectors. This correspond to the LHC measurements made by ATLAS+AFP and CMS+PPS. Transverse momenta of the intermediate photons and photon fluxes expressed by the form factors and structure functions are included. Moreover the influence of proton measurement and cuts on the ξ 1 / 2 , M ll , Y ll , p t…

Production of dileptons via photon-photon fusion in proton-proton collisions with one forward proton measurement

We discuss the mechanism of dilepton production in proton-proton scattering via fusion of virtual photons with identification of one proton on either side. This is relevant for the ATLAS+AFP and

Central dileption production in proton-proton collisions with rapidity gap and with forward protons

We discuss photon-photon fusion mechanisms of dilepton production in proton-proton collisions with rapidity gap in the main detector and one forward proton in the forward proton detectors. This is

Forward Proton Scattering in Association with Muon Pair Production via the Photon Fusion Mechanism at the LHC

Dilepton production in proton-proton collision through γγ-fusion with one proton scattered elastically while the second produces a hadron jet is considered. Semi-analytical formulas describing the

$pp$ scattering at the LHC with the lepton pair production and one proton tagging

Analytical formulas for the cross section of the reaction pp → p + ℓ + ℓ − + X are presented. Fiducial cross sections are compared with those measured recently by the ATLAS collaboration.

The photon content of the proton

A bstractThe photon PDF of the proton is needed for precision comparisons of LHC cross sections with theoretical predictions. In a recent paper, we showed how the photon PDF could be determined in

Production of W+W− pairs via γ*γ* → W+W− subprocess with photon transverse momenta

The photon PDF in events with rapidity gaps

We consider photon-initiated events with large rapidity gaps in proton–proton collisions, where one or both protons may break up. We formulate a modified photon PDF that accounts for the specific
