Semi-automated reflectance readings of urinalysis dipsticks showed better precision than visual readings in the case of artificially prepared urine samples containing glucose, ketone, and protein. Actual pathological specimens containing glucose, protein, and nitrite also showed that instrumental readings were better than visual.
