We have performed a complete study of self-dual configurations in a $CPT$-odd and Lorentz-violating gauged $O(3)$ nonlinear sigma model. We have consistently implemented the Bogomol'nyi-Prasad-Sommerfield (BPS) formalism and obtained the correspondent differential first-order equations describing electrically charged self-dual configurations. The total energy and magnetic flux of the vortices, besides being proportional to the winding number, also depend explicitly on the Lorentz-violating…

First-order vortices in a gauged $CP(2)$ model with a Chern-Simons term

- Computer Science
- 2018

A coherent first- order framework is developed via the Bogomol'nyi prescription, from which the corresponding energy lower-bound and the first-order equations the model supports are obtained and used to introduce effective BPS scenarios.

Nontopological first-order vortices in a gauged
CP(2)
theory endowed with the Chern-Simons action

- Computer SciencePhysical Review D
- 2018

The minimization of the effective energy is proceeded in order to introduce the corresponding first-order framework, from which a legitimate self-dual scenario is defined, and a special kind of solutions which can be partially described by an analytical treatment are identified.

BPS solitons with internal structure in the gauged
O(3)
sigma model

- Physics
- 2020

We investigate the existence of self-dual solitons with internal structure in a gauged $O(3)$ nonlinear sigma model immersed in a dielectric medium generated by a real scalar field (dubbed the source…

No radiative corrections to the Carroll–Field–Jackiw term beyond one-loop order

- Physics
- 2020

We demonstrate explicitly the absence of the quantum corrections to the Carroll-Field-Jackiw (CFJ) term beyond one-loop within the Lorentz-breaking CPT-odd extension of QED. The proof holds within…

Self-dual solitons in a Maxwell-Chern-Simons baby Skyrme model

- PhysicsPhysical Review D
- 2020

We have studied the existence de self-dual solitons in a gauged version of the baby Skyrme model in which the gauge field dynamics is governed by the Maxwell-Chern-Simons action. For such a purpose,…
