SYNOPSIS Ochromonas malhamensis cells were allowed to feed on autoclaved Aerobacter aerogenes, biochemically inert polystyrene latex particles of comparable size, shape and density, or a combination of these to determine if this protozoan is capable of phagotrophic selectivity under defined experimental conditions.
