Platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) signals through several pathways, including mitogen-activated protein (MAP) kinase, Jun kinase, and C kinase, and stimulates proliferation of fibroblasts. Pentoxifylline inhibits PDGF-driven proliferation of fibroblasts.
