Chitosan-MAA nanoparticles (CS-MAA) with an average size of 10-70 nm were prepared by polymerizing chitosan with methacrylic acid in aqueous solution. The physicochemical properties of nanoparticles were investigated using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), dynamic light scattering (DLS) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR).
