The new tungsten allyl nitrosyl complex, Cp*W(NO)(η3-CH2CHCHMe)(CH2CMe3) (1) (Cp* = η5-C5Me5; Me = CH3), selectively activates the terminal C−H bonds of n-pentane at room temperature and forms the thermally stable compound, Cp*W(NO)(η3-CH2CHCHMe)(CH2CH2CH2CH2Me) (2), from which the n-pentyl ligand may be selectively released as 1-iodopentane by treatment with I2. Current experimental evidence suggests that the C−H activation chemistry derived from 1 proceeds via two distinct steps:  (1…

C-H bond activation of benzene by unsaturated η2-cyclopropene and η2-benzyne complexes of niobium.
TLDR
Isotopic labeling, trapping studies, a detailed kinetic analysis, and density functional theory all suggest that the active intermediate is an η(2)-cyclopropene complex formed via β-hydrogen abstraction rather than an isomeric cyclopropylidene species.
Hyperdistorted Tungsten Allyl Complexes and Their Stereoselective Deprotonation to Form Dihapto-Coordinated Dienes
Several π-allyl complexes of {TpW(NO)(PMe3)} are investigated as possible sources of η2-diene complexes. In order to prepare the diene complex as a single diastereomer, the allyl complex must undergo
Syntheses, X-ray Crystal Structures, and Solution Behavior of Cationic, Two-Coordinate Gold(I) η2-Diene Complexes
A family of cationic gold π-diene complexes of the form {[P(t-Bu)2o-biphenyl]Au(η2-diene)}+SbF6– were isolated in >80% yield from reaction of various dienes with a mixture of [P(t-Bu)2o-biphenyl]AuCl
Review: active homogeneous reagents and catalysts in n-alkane activation
The development of selective, efficient, and direct routes for activation and functionalization of naturally abundant n-alkanes could lead to a new paradigm in materials and energy technologies. In
Infrared spectra of CH3-MH through methane activation by laser-ablated Sn, Pb, Sb, and Bi atoms.
TLDR
The previous and present experimental and computational results indicate that the higher oxidation state complexes become less favored with increasing atomic mass in groups 14 and 15, which is opposite the general trend found for transition metals.
Neutral ligands with exceptional donor ability for palladium-catalyzed alkene hydrogenation.
With four site: Catalytic olefin hydrogenation is observed with palladium complexes when the N-heterocyclic carbene ligand is changed from the normal C2- to the unusual C4-bonding mode (see scheme).
The continuum of carbon–hydrogen (C–H) activation mechanisms and terminology
As a rapidly growing field across all areas of chemistry, C-H activation/functionalisation is being used to access a wide range of important molecular targets. Of particular interest is the
An Unusual Peroxide‐Mediated Amination of Cycloalkanes with Nitroarenes
A direct amination of simple cycloalkanes with nitroarenes mediated by peroxides has been discovered. Various secondary arylamines were obtained efficiently from cycloalkanes. The reaction tolerates
