Digital stethoscopes offer new opportunities for computerized analysis of heart sounds. Segmentation of hearts sounds is a fundamental step in the analyzing process. However segmentation of heart sounds recorded with handheld stethoscopes in clinical environments is often complicated by recording and background noise.
