In multimedia-based learning systems, there is need for segmenting and organizing lecture videos into topic and subtopics. Fundamental problem in any lecture video is to give semantic query and effectively retrieve relevant contents form long video. Effective search capability for the students can be provided if proper browsing facility is provided. Automatic segmentation is highly desired because of the high cost of manual segmentation. In this paper, we propose a general system for segmenting…

An automated method for semantic segmentation and tag recommendation of online lecture videos using OCR technology is presented.

Applying open content concept by synchronizing lecture video and slide

TLDR
This article discusses how to overcome both problems by combining video and slide into one learning content so that it can cover the weaknesses of learning videos as the main medium of learning.

Video Index Point Detection and Extraction Framework using Custom YoloV4 Darknet Object Detection Model

The trend of learning from videos instead of documents has increased. There could be hundreds and thousands of videos on a single topic, with varying degrees of context, content, and depth of the

Instrumentation of Learning Situation using Automated Speech Transcription: A Prototyping Approach

TLDR
A set of tools, based on live transcription of speech during lectures and designed to instrument traditional lectures as well as web conferences or hybrid learning situations, is presented, designed to help students stay focused on the teacher's explanations and offer them greater possibilities of interactions.

Content-based lecture video indexing

TLDR
This thesis proposes an automatic system for content-based indexing of blackboard lecture videos and uses low-level video processing algorithms to segment a scene into foreground moving objects and a slowly changing background consisting of the blackboard and the text written on it.

Automatic Video Segmentation and Story-Based Authoring in E-Learning

TLDR
This paper proposes a story-based editing and browsing system with the automatic video segmentation, and points out that a video classification technology can be further integrated to enhance the tool by using visual and audio information.

Content Based Retrieval Video System for Educational Purposes

TLDR
An on-line video system for educational purposes with a prototype video content-based retrieval system called Educational Video On Line and it is shown how a standard relational database management system can be extended in order to handle queries by content.

ONTOLOGY-DRIVEN ANNOTATION AND ACCESS OF PRESENTATION VIDEO DATA

TLDR
This paper investigates how to combine visual and textual information in the hierarchical segmentation of presentation video data and suggests that ontology-driven video access can improve video retrieval relevancy and enhance users’ video access experience.
