In recent years, there is growing recognition of the need to develop suitable mechanisms for reducing the adverse effects of malicious attacks such as high power jamming and tapping attacks. A number of recent papers have proposed static lightpath allocation approaches that take such security issues into consideration. Most of these approaches consider the routing problem separately from the wavelength assignment problem. In this paper we propose a new security-aware ILP formulation, as well as… CONTINUE READING

Key Quantitative Results

  • Overall, the combined reduction in the attack radius obtained using ILP-SA, considering both LAR and IAR, range from 15% -25% compared to traditional approaches that are not attack-aware.
