We report second-timescale infrared photometry of the nova V1674 Her using Palomar Gattini-IR (PGIR). These observations constitute the first infrared and highest temporal resolution data (resolution of ≈0.84 s) of the nova reported to date. PGIR observed in this fast readout mode for more than an hour on three nights between 3 and 6 days after discovery. We searched for periodic variability using a Lomb–Scargle periodogram and did not detect anything down to a three sigma upper limit of 0.093…

The Detailed Light-curve Evolution of V1674 Her (Nova Her 2021)
We report high-cadence photometry of the ultra-fast (t 2 ∼ 1.2 days) nova V1674 Her during its rise to maximum light (V ∼ 6.3) and the beginning of its subsequent decline. These observations from
Unveiling the dynamic infrared sky
Palomar Gattini-IR is the first of a number of infrared transient surveyors that will search the skies nightly, looking for ephemeral phenomena such as novae, supernovae and neutron star merger

TLDR
Palomar Gattini-IR is probing the reddest and dustiest transients in the local universe such as dust obscured supernovae in nearby galaxies, novae behind large columns of extinction within the galaxy, reddened micro-lensing events in the Galactic plane and variability from cool and dust obscured stars.
