We discuss the interplay of wave package decoherence and decoherence induced by quantum gravity via interactions with spacetime foam for high energy astrophysical neutrinos. In this context we point out a compelling consequence of the expectation that quantum gravity should break global symmetries, namely that quantum-gravity induced decoherence can provide both a powerful tool for the search for new particles, including totally decoupled backgrounds interacting only gravitationally, and at the…

Quantum Gravitational Decoherence in the 3 Neutrino Flavor Scheme

In many theories of quantum gravity quantum fluctuations of spacetime may serve as an environment for decoherence. Here we study quantum-gravitational decoherence of high energy astrophysical

How to Identify Different New Neutrino Oscillation Physics Scenarios at DUNE

Effects of quantum space time foam in the neutrino sector

We discuss violations of CPT and quantum mechanics due to interactions of neutrinos with space-time quantum foam. Neutrinoless double beta decay and oscillations of neutrinos from astrophysical

Evidence for High-Energy Extraterrestrial Neutrinos at the IceCube Detector

The presence of a high-energy neutrino flux containing the most energetic neutrinos ever observed is revealed, including 28 events at energies between 30 and 1200 TeV, although the origin of this flux is unknown and the findings are consistent with expectations for a neutRino population with origins outside the solar system.

Spacetime foam at a TeV

Motivated by recent interest in TeV-scale gravity and especially by the possibility of fast baryon decay mediated by virtual black holes, we study another dangerous aspect of spacetime foam

Decoherence and oscillations of supernova neutrinos

Supernova neutrinos have several exceptional features which can lead to interesting physical consequences. At the production point their wave packets have an extremely small size $$\sigma _{x} \sim

High-Energy Neutrino Astronomy - Baikal-GVD Neutrino Telescope in Lake Baikal

This paper briefly reviews working principles, analysis methods, and some selected results of the Baikal-GVD neutrino telescope.

How unequal fluxes of high energy astrophysical neutrinos and antineutrinos can fake new physics

Flavor ratios of very high energy astrophysical neutrinos, which can be studied at the Earth by a neutrino telescope such as IceCube, can serve to diagnose their production mechanism at the
