Three Indonesian medicinal plants were investigated to elucidate their biologically active constituents. From the leaves of Scurrula fusca (Loranthaceae), a parasitic plant, was isolated a mixture (presumably a complex) of perseitol (a heptitol) and potassium ion which exhibited inhibitory activity on the incorporation of H-leucine to the Ehrlich ascites tumor cells in rat.
