A bstractThe results of a search for direct pair production of the scalar partner to the top quark using an integrated luminosity of 20.1 fb−1 of proton-proton collision data at s$$\sqrt{s}$$ = 8 TeV recorded with the ATLAS detector at the LHC are reported. The top squark is assumed to decay via t¯→tχ¯10$$\overline{t}\ \to t{\overline{\chi}}_1^0$$ or t¯→bχ¯1±→bW*χ¯10$$\overline{t}\ \to b{\overline{\chi}}_1^{\pm }\ \to b{W}^{\left(*\right)}{\overline{\chi}}_1^0$$, where χ¯10χ¯1… CONTINUE READING
