A new search strategy for the detection of the elusive dark matter (DM) axion is proposed. The idea is based on streaming DM axions, whose flux might get temporally enormously enhanced due to gravitational lensing. This can happen if the Sun or some planet (including the Moon) is found along the direction of a DM stream propagating towards the Earth location. The experimental requirements to the axion haloscope are a wide-band performance combined with a fast axion rest mass scanning mode…

Revealing the dark matter halo with axion direct detection

The next generation of axion direct detection experiments may rule out or confirm axions as the dominant source of dark matter. We develop a general likelihood-based framework for studying the

The CAST Experiment: Status Report

The CAST (Cern Axion Solar Telescope) experiment has been looking at the Sun for more than a decade now in its quest of observing a signal coming from the conversion of the axions in the telescope’s

A dark matter telescope probing the 6 to 60 GHz band

In this article we present the Dark-photons&Axion-Like particles Interferometer (DALI), a novel experiment designed for the detection of photon-mixing cold dark matter in the microwave band between 6

New mechanism producing axions in the AQN model and how the CAST can discover them

We advocate the idea that the there is a fundamentally new mechanism for the axion production in the Sun, which has never been discussed previously in the literature. These novel axions will be

A dark matter telescope probing the 6 to 60 GHz band

In this article we present the Dark-photons$\&$Axion-Like particles Interferometer (DALI), a novel experiment designed for the detection of photon-mixing cold dark matter in the microwave band

Axionlike dark matter search using the storage ring EDM method

We propose using a modified storage ring EDM method to search for the axion dark matter induced EDM oscillation in nucleons. The method uses a combination of B and E-fields to produce a resonance

Towards a medium-scale axion helioscope and haloscope

We discuss the physics case for and the concept of a medium-scale axion helioscope with sensitivities in the axion-photon coupling a few times better than CERN Axion Solar Telescope (CAST). Search

Tunable Supermode Dielectric Resonators for Axion Dark-Matter Haloscopes

We present frequency tuning mechanisms for dielectric resonators, which undergo "super-mode" interactions as they tune. The tunable schemes are based on dielectric materials strategically placed

TLDR
It is argued that a subdominant fraction of dark matter could constitute a fraction of all matter roughly as large as the fraction in baryons, and that it could be detected through its gravitational effects on the motion of stars in galaxies, for example.

Directional detection of dark matter streams

Directional detection of WIMPs, in which the energies and directions of the recoiling nuclei are measured, currently presents the only prospect for probing the local velocity distribution of Galactic
