Scutellaria baicalensis has been widely used as both a dietary ingredient and traditional herbal medicine in Taiwan to treat inflammation, cancer, and bacterial and viral infections of the respiratory tract and gastrointestinal tract. This paper aims to investigate the in vitro and in vivo anti-inflammatory effects of S. baicalensis. In HPLC analysis, the fingerprint chromatogram of the water extract of S. baicalensis (WSB) was established. The anti-inflammatory effects of WSB were…

Perilla fruit water extract (PFWE) attenuated pro-inflammatory cytokine and chemokine levels and downregulated neutrophil recruitment through the MAPK/JNK-AP-1/c-Fos pathway and can be a potential drug to assist the treatment of ARDS.

Protective and therapeutic effects of Scutellaria baicalensis and its main active ingredients baicalin and baicalein against natural toxicities and physical hazards: a review of mechanisms

Scutellaria baicalensis (SB) has been traditionally used to combat a variety of conditions ranging from ischemic heart disease to cancer. The protective effects of SB are due to the action of two

In the rat model of CARE, BHSST can suppress development of esophageal mucosal ulceration via regulation of reactive oxygen species-dependent apoptosis and exerted an anti-apoptotic effect.

Baicalin Inhibits Inflammatory Responses to Interleukin-1β Stimulation in Human Chondrocytes.

It is found that BA treatment led to remarkable reductions of OA-related proinflammatory gene expressions, including interleukin (IL)-6, tumor necrosis factor (TNF), chemokine (C-X-C motif) ligand 1 (CXCL1), and CXCL10.
