Sorghum shoot fly, Atherigona soccata Rondani (OrderDiptera, FamilyMuscidae) is the most destructive one and causes severe damage in the early i.e. seedling stage and last up to 4 weeks causing severe reduction in plant population thereby causing heavy yield losses.
