Formalin-induced pain models were used in rats to evaluate the antinociceptive effect of the total alkaloids of Corydalis yanhusuo (TAC). The results indicated that formalin-evoked spontaneous nociceptive responses (licking behavior) could be inhibited significantly by giving (intragingival) TAC at a single dose of 150 mg/kg.
