The potential of a point charge in a thin semiconducting film with the thickness below the de Broglie wavelength of the free charge carriers is calculated with and without the screening.

Gate-tunable electron interaction in high-κ dielectric films
This work finds that by reducing the distance from the gate to the film, the spatial range of the 2D long-range logarithmic interaction is decreased, which can be tuned by the external gate electrode and unravel a variety of electrostatic interactions in high-k films.
Probing many-body interactions in monolayer transition-metal dichalcogenides
Many-body interactions in monolayer transition-metal dichalcogenides are strongly affected by their unique band structure. We study these interactions by measuring the energy shift of neutral
Dynamical screening in monolayer transition-metal dichalcogenides and its manifestations in the exciton spectrum.
A systematic description of the dynamical screening and its various approximations allow one to revisit other phenomena, such as nonequilibrium transport or superconducting pairing, where the use of the Bethe-Salpeter equation or the emergence of shortwave plasmons can play an important role.
Charged Bosons Made of Fermions in Bilayer Structures with Strong Metallic Screening.
Experimental evidence and the theoretical basis for a new bound excitonic complex, consisting two free carriers bound to an exciton in a bilayer structure, and a new spectral line at the predicted energy with two different TMD materials are reported.
Excited Rydberg States in TMD Heterostructures
The functional form of Coulomb interactions in the transition metal dichalcogenides and other van der Waals solids is critical to many of their unique properties, e.g. strongly-correlated electron
Coulomb interaction in monolayer transition-metal dichalcogenides
Recently, the celebrated Keldysh potential has been widely used to describe the Coulomb interaction of few-body complexes in monolayer transition-metal dichalcogenides. Using this potential to model
Dynamical Screening of Excitons in Monolayer Transition-Metal Dichalcogenides
We review the manifestations of many-body interactions in monolayer transition-metal dichalcogenides (ML-TMDs) through changes in the optical spectra of excitons when the charge density is varied
Wigner crystallization at large fine structure constant
We consider the fate of the Wigner crystal state in a two dimensional system of massive Dirac electrons as the effective fine structure constant α is increased. In a Dirac system, larger α naively
