We consider Schwinger pair production in 1+1 dimensional de Sitter space, filled with a constant electric field E. This can be thought of as a model for describing false vacuum decay beyond the semiclassical approximation, where pairs of a quantum field of mass m and charge e play the role of vacuum bubbles. We find that the adiabatic ``in vacuum associated with the flat chart develops a space-like expectation value for the current J, which manifestly breaks the de Sitter invariance of the…

A note on the nonperturbative nature of the Schwinger effect in the expanding de Sitter space
We reconsider a recent perturbative calculation [M. A. Băloi, Mod. Phys. Lett. A29, 1450138 (2014)] of particle production in the expanding de Sitter space in an external electromagnetic field and
Schwinger pair production in hot anti–de Sitter space
We consider particle production in $1+1$ dimensional thermal Anti-de Sitter space under the influence of a constant electric field. The vacuum-persistence amplitude is given by a non-relativistic
Fermionic Schwinger effect and induced current in de Sitter space
We explore Schwinger effect of spin 1/2 charged particles with static electric field in 1+3 dimensional de Sitter spacetime. We analytically calculate the vacuum expectation value of the spinor
Effect of a magnetic field on Schwinger mechanism in de Sitter spacetime
We investigate the effect of a uniform magnetic field background on scalar QED pair production in a four-dimensional de Sitter spacetime (dS4). We obtain a pair production rate which agrees with the
Schwinger effect in 4D de Sitter space and constraints on magnetogenesis in the early universe
A bstractWe investigate pair creation by an electric field in four-dimensional de Sitter space. The expectation value of the induced current is computed, using the method of adiabatic regularization.
Vacuum birefringence and the Schwinger effect in (3+1) de Sitter
In de Sitter space, the current induced by an electric field in vacuum is known to feature certain peculiarities, such as infrared hyperconductivity for light bosons in weak electric fields.
Holographic Schwinger effect in de Sitter space
Using the AdS/CFT correspondence, we construct the holographic dual of a tunneling instanton describing Schwinger pair creation in de Sitter space. Our approach allows us to extract the critical
Schwinger effect in inflaton-driven electric field
In a four dimensional inflation theory, a persistent electric field can be established by making the inflaton coupled to the gauge field like a dilaton. We investigate the pair production of scalar
Schwinger mechanism in electromagnetic field in de Sitter spacetime
We investigate Schwinger scalar pair production in a constant electromagnetic field in de Sitter (dS) spacetime. We obtain the pair production rate, which agrees with the Hawking radiation in the
Schwinger Pair Creation by a Time-Dependent Electric Field in de Sitter Space with the Energy Density E_μ E^μ=E^2 a^2(τ)
We investigate Schwinger pair creation of charged scalar particles from a time-dependent electric field background in (1+3)-dimensional de Sitter spacetime. Since the field's equation of motion has

The method of Bogolubov transformations is used to compute the rate of pair production by an electric field in 1+1 dimensional de Sitter space, and results agree where they are expected to, not only in the exponen- tial dependence but also in the prefactor, confirming the validity of instanton techniques in de Sitters space.
Instability of global de Sitter space to particle creation
We show that global de Sitter space is unstable to particle creation, even for a massive free field theory with no self-interactions. The $O(4,1)$ de Sitter invariant state is a definite phase

Observer dependence of bubble nucleation and Schwinger pair production
Pair production in a constant electric field is closely analogous to bubble nucleation in a false vacuum. The classical trajectories of the pairs are Lorentz invariant, but it appears that this
