We construct explicitly time-dependent exact solutions to the field equations of six-dimensional (6D) gauged chiral supergravity, compactified to 4D in the presence of up to two three-branes situated within the extra dimensions. The solutions we find are scaling solutions, and are plausibly attractors which represent the late-time evolution of a broad class of initial conditions. By matching their near-brane boundary conditions to physical brane properties, we argue that these solutions…

Exact wave solutions to 6D gauged chiral supergravity

We describe a broad class of time-dependent exact wave solutions to 6D gauged chiral supergravity with two compact dimensions. These 6D solutions are nontrivial warped generalizations of 4D pp-waves

Bulk Branes in Supergravity Theories

We construct a consistent supersymmetric action for brane chiral and vector multiplets in a six-dimensional chiral gauged supergravity. A nonzero brane tension can be accommodated by allowing for a

Scaling cosmologies of gauged supergravity

We construct exact cosmological scaling solutions in gauged supergravity. We restrict to solutions for which the scalar fields trace out geodesic curves on the scalar manifold. Under these

Dynamical F-strings intersecting D2-branes in type IIA supergravity

We present time-dependent exact solutions composed of F-strings intersecting D2-branes in type IIA supergravity. The F-strings tend to approach each other with time in the six-dimensional space

Supersymmetric codimension-two branes in six-dimensional gauged supergravity

We consider the six-dimensional Salam-Sezgin supergravity in the presence of codimension-2 branes. In the case that the branes carry only tension, we provide a way to supersymmetrise them by adding

Brane cosmological solutions in six-dimensional warped flux compactifications

We study cosmology on a conical brane in the six-dimensional Einstein–Maxwell-dilaton system, where the extra dimensions are compactified by a magnetic flux. We systematically construct exact

Low energy effective theory on a regularized brane in 6D gauged chiral supergravity

We derive the low energy effective theory on a brane in six-dimensional chiral supergravity. The conical 3-brane singularities are resolved by introducing cylindrical 4-branes of co-dimension 1 whose

Conical singularities regularized in warped six-dimensional flux compactification and their induced brane cosmology

We discuss the regularization of codimension-2 singularities in warped six-dimensional Einstein-Maxwell axisymmetric models by replacing them by codimension-1 branes of a ring form, situated around

Stability and negative tensions in 6D brane worlds

We investigate the dynamical stability of warped, axially symmetric compactifications in anomaly free 6D gauged supergravity. The solutions have conical defects, which we source by 3-branes placed on

Nonsingular 4d-flat branes in six-dimensional supergravities

We show that six-dimensional supergravity models admit nonsingular solutions in the presence of flat three-brane sources with positive tensions. The models studied in this paper are nonlinear sigma

Self-tuning flat domain walls in 5D gravity and string theory

We present Poincare-invariant domain wall (''three-brane'') solutions to some five-dimensional effective theories which can arise naturally in string theory. In particular, we find theories where

4d-flat compactifications with brane vorticities

We present solutions in six-dimensional gravity coupled to a sigma model, in the presence of three-brane sources. The space transverse to the branes is a compact non-singular manifold. The example of

General axisymmetric solutions and self-tuning in 6D chiral gauged supergravity

We re-examine the properties of the axially-symmetric solutions to chiral gauged 6D supergravity, recently found in refs. [12] and [13]. Ref. [12] finds the most general solutions having two

The general warped solution with conical branes in six-dimensional supergravity

We present the general regular warped solution with 4D Minkowski spacetime in six-dimensional gauged supergravity. In this framework, we can easily embed multiple conical branes into the warped

Warped flux compactification and brane gravity

We find a simple exact solution for a six-dimensional braneworld which captures some essential features of warped flux compactification, including a warped geometry, compactification, a magnetic flux

Gravity on codimension 2 brane worlds

The authors compute the matching conditions for a general thick codimension 2 brane, a necessary previous step towards the investigation of gravitational phenomena in co-dimension 2 braneworlds. They
