We derive a scalar potential in the recently proposed N = 1 supersymmetric generalization of f(R) gravity in four spacetime dimensions. Any such higher-derivative supergravity is classically equivalent to the standard N = 1 supergravity coupled to a chiral (matter) superfield, via a Legendre–Weyl transform in superspace. The Kähler potential, the superpotential and the scalar potential of that theory are all governed by a single holomorphic function. We also find the conditions for the…

### F(R) SUPERGRAVITY

We review the F(R) supergravity recently proposed in Phys. Lett. B674(2009)59 and Class. and Quantum Grav. 26(2009)135006. Our construction supersymmetrizes popular f(R) theories of modified gravity

### On the supersymmetrization of inflation in f (R) gravity

An N=1 Poincare supergravity action, suitable for describing the Starobinsky in- flation, is proposed. It extends f(R) gravity to supergravity in its old-minimal ver- sion. The action is parametrized

### Cosmological properties of a generic ℛ2-supergravity

We investigate in detail the structure of the simplest non-trivial F()-supergravity model, whose F-function is given by a generic quadratic polynomial in terms of the scalar supercurvature . This

### Inflation and nonminimal scalar-curvature coupling in gravity and supergravity

• Physics

Inflationary slow-roll dynamics in Einstein gravity with a nonminimal scalar-curvature coupling can be equivalent to that in the certain f(R) gravity theory. We review the correspondence and extend

### DARK ENERGY IN MODIFIED SUPERGRAVITY

• Physics

We propose a supersymmetric extension of the dynamical dark energy function and the scalar (super)potential in $F(\mathcal{R})$ supergravity. Our model is viable in the Einstein approximation, and

### Old-minimal supergravity models of inflation

A bstractWe study three types of the old-minimal higher-derivative supergravity theories extending the f (R) gravity, towards their use for the inflationary model building in supergravity, by using

### The coupling of non-linear supersymmetry to supergravity

• Physics
• 2015
We study the coupling of non-linear supersymmetry to supergravity. The goldstino nilpotent superfield of global supersymmetry coupled to supergravity is described by a geometric action of the chiral

### Nonlinear supersymmetry, spontaneous supersymmetry breaking and extra dimensions

The subject matter of the present thesis is the partial breaking of N=2 supersymmetry in four and in five spacetime dimensions. In the first case, we study the off-shell nonlinear realization of the

We propose the 4D, N=1 supergravitational analogues (avatars) of the 4D, N=1 supersymmetric Born-Infeld action in four dimensions for the first time, by using superspace. In particular, a new

It is shown that chaotic inflation naturally takes place by introducing a small breaking term of the shift symmetry in the superpotential.

### De Sitter vacua in string theory

We outline the construction of metastable de Sitter vacua of type IIB string theory. Our starting point is highly warped IIB compactifications with nontrivial NS and RR three-form fluxes. By
