By means of the in situ electrokinetic assessment of aqueous particles in conjunction with the addition of anionic adsorbates, we develop and examine a new approach to the scalable characterization of the specific accessible surface area of particles in water. For alumina powders of differing morphology in mildly acidic aqueous suspensions, the effective surface charge was modified by carboxylate anion adsorption through the incremental addition of oxalic and citric acids. The observed zeta…

Anti-Corrosion Performance Of 1,3-Benzothiazole On 410 Martensitic Stainless Steel In H2so4

The corrosion inhibition effect of synthesized 1,3-benzothiazole at very low concentrations on 410 martensitic stainless steel in 3MH2SO4 solution was studied through potentiodynamic polarization and

Adsorption of Phenol in Wastewater Using Nano Grapheme Oxide-Chitosan-Bentonite Absorbent

Background and Objectives: Contamination of surface and groundwater sources with aromatic compounds such as phenolic compounds is one of the newest environmental problems that humans encountered it

Improving the sorption ability of modified bentonite during wastewater treatment by means of its activation

Introduction. The article discusses the problem of industrial wastewater treatment using adsorption. Clay materials — bentonites modified with carbon nanotubes, glycerin — are proposed as sorption

Adsorption of Indigo Carmine Dye onto Porous Adsorbent Derived from Banaba Peels Waste

This study investigated the preparation method and adsorption efficiency of porous adsorbents prepared from banana peels (BP) waste. The BP waste was acquired from banana fried chip factories in

Removal of aqueous carbamazepine using graphene oxide nanoplatelets: process modelling and optimization

Unplanned and unmonitored developmental activities have resulted in a rapid emergence of pollutants like pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs) in the environment. These PPCPs are

The problem of relating electrophoretic mobilities to surface charge densities of particles in suspension has been investigated mainly experimentally. The subject has been approached by comparing the

Citric Acid—A Dispersant for Aqueous Alumina Suspensions

The interaction between citric acid and alumina in aqueous solution is characterized. Adsorption isotherms of the dispersant on the alumina surface, electrophoretic mobility of the alumina particles

Electrosorption of ions from aqueous solutions by carbon aerogel: An electrical double-layer model

An electrical double-layer model is developed to predict electrosorption of ions from aqueous solutions by carbon aerogel electrodes. The carbon aerogel electrodes are treated as electrical

Chromate and oxalate adsorption on goethite. 2. Surface complexation modeling of competitive adsorption

Adsorption of binary mixtures of chromate and oxalate onto [alpha]-FeOOH was quantified as a function of pH for a wide range of absorbate concentrations. Oxalate diminished the adsorption of chromate

Phosphate Adsorption onto TiO2 from Aqueous Solutions: An in Situ Internal Reflection Infrared Spectroscopic Study

The adsorption of phosphate ions from aqueous solution onto thin films of colloidal TiO2 has been studied for the first time by in situ internal reflection infrared spectroscopy. Phosphate binds

Bovine serum albumin adsorption onto colloidal Al2O3 particles: a new model based on zeta potential and UV-vis measurements.

A new adsorption model for BSA on Al2O3 particles was introduced on the basis of observations and it was shown that approximately one monolayer of BSA was needed to fully mask the surface and to compromise the charge of Al2 O3.
