Abstract : The collision warnings produced by the Joint Space Operations Center JSpOC) are of critical importance in protecting U.S. and allied spacecraft against destructive collisions and protecting the lives of astronauts during space flight. As the Space Surveillance Network (SSN) improves its sensor capabilities for tracking small and dim space objects, the number of tracked objects increases from thousands to hundreds of thousands of objects, while the number of potential conjunctionsโ€ฆย

DVD-COOP: Innovative Conjunction Prediction Using Voronoi-filter based on the Dynamic Voronoi Diagram of 3D Spheres
A novel algorithm is presented which both guarantees no missing conjunction and is efficient to answer to a variety of spatial queries including pairwise conjunction prediction, based on the dynamic Voronoi diagram of moving spherical balls in 3D space.
High collision probability conjunctions and space debris remediation
The finding that conjunctions with relatively high collision probabilities are the reason why ADR may be insufficient to constrain the number of debris, and analysis of JCA using an evolutionary debris model are the main novel contributions of this work.
DVD-COOP for Maneuver Path Optimization of Conjunctive Resident Space Objects for Space Traffic Management
A new capability of the DVD-COOP algorithm is reported which, given a detected conjunction, produces the optimal maneuver plan by quickly evaluating alternatives using the event history stored in the COOP-HSTRY file.
GEO Collisional Risk Assessment Based on Analysis of NASA-WISE Data and Modeling
Abstract : From December 2009 through 2011 the NASA Wide-Field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE) gathered radiometrically exquisite measurements of debris in near Earth orbits, substantially augmentingโ€ฆ

Optimization of Large-Scale , Real-Time Simulations by Spatial Hashing
This paper proposes several methods to concurrently optimize collision, rendering, and AI routines in simulations based on the following established techniques: spatial hashing, Bounding Volumes, and Position Over Time.
Optimized Spatial Hashing for Collision Detection of Deformable Objects
The presented algorithm is integrated in a physicallyโ€“based environment, which can be used in game engines and surgical simulators, and employs a hash function for compressing a potentially infinite regular spatial grid.
A Comparison of Satellite Conjunction Analysis Screening Tools
This analysis considers the accuracy and completeness of results achieved by six conjunction analysis screening tools in development or use in a variety of commercial and government settings.
The CAOS-D Architecture for Conjunction Analysis
Initial test results show improved performance with increasing numbers of objects, and designs enable CAOS-D to be used for research and development in an operational type environment.
Close conjunction detection on parallel computer
The text should mention that the algorithm described as applied to a single Cartesian coordinate is then successively applied to the other coordinates in the obvious way to select satellites that areโ€ฆ
Multidimensional binary search trees used for associative searching
The multidimensional binary search tree (or k-d tree) as a data structure for storage of information to be retrieved by associative searches is developed and it is shown to be quite efficient in its storage requirements.
Efficient memory-based learning for robot control
A method of learning is presented in which all the experiences in the lifetime of the robot are explicitly remembered, thus permitting very quick predictions of the e ects of proposed actions and, given a goal behaviour, permitting fast generation of a candidate action.
An analytic method to determine future close approaches between satellites
The calculation of the times of future close approaches between pairs of satellites has been formulated using analytical techniques. The resulting analytical equations are solved using numericalโ€ฆ
