A Gram-stain-negative, non-motile, facultatively anaerobic and rod-shaped bacterial strain, designated PAMC 28131T, was isolated from a sea surface microlayer sample in the open water of the Pacific Ocean. Phylogenetic analysis of the 16S rRNA gene sequence of strain PAMC 28131T revealed an affiliation to the genus Sandaracinobacter with the closest species Sandaracinobacter sibiricus RB16-17T (sequence similarity of 98.2 %). Strain PAMC 28131T was able to grow optimally with 0.5-1.0 % NaCl and…

Sandaracinobacteroides sayramensis sp. nov., a yellow-pigmented bacterium isolated from lake water

Based on the physiological, biochemical, phylogenetic and genomic data, strain RS1-74T represents a novel species within the genus Sandaracinobacteroides sayramensis sp.

Sandaracinobacteroides saxicola sp. nov., a Zeaxanthin-Producing and Halo-Sensitive Bacterium Isolated from Fully Weathered Granitic Soil, and the Diversity of Its ARHDs

The morphological, physiological, chemotaxonomic, and phylogenetic analysis clearly distinguished this strain from its phylogenetic neighbors, thus strain M6T represents a novel species of the genus Sandaracinobacteroides, for which the name Sandaracsina saxicola sp.

Description of Sandaracinobacter Hominis Sp. Nov., Isolated From Human Skin

Phylogenetic analysis of 16S rRNA gene sequences together with protein-concatamer tree showed that SZY PN-1T formed a separate branch within the genus Sandaracinobacter, which is proposed as a new Gram-negative, aerobic, non-motile, rod-shaped and yellow-pigmented bacterium.

Thermaurantiacus tibetensis gen. nov., sp. nov., a novel moderately thermophilic bacterium isolated from hot spring microbial mat in Tibet

The results showed that strains SYsu G02173T and SYSU G03142 represent a novel species of a novel genus in the family Sphingomonadaceae, and thus the name Thermaurantiacus tibetensis (type strain SYSU’s= KCTC 72052 T’=‬CGMCC 1.16680 T) is proposed.

Thermaurantiacus tibetensis gen. nov., sp. nov., a novel moderately thermophilic bacterium isolated from hot spring microbial mat in Tibet

The results showed that strains SYsu G02173 T and SYSU G03142 represent a novel species of a novel genus in the family Sphingomonadaceae , and thus the name Thermaurantiacus tibetensis is proposed.

Prokaryotic abundance and 16S rRNA gene sequences detected in marine aerosols on the East Sea (Korea).

Surface seawater seems to be a main source of marine airborne bacteria, and Euryarchaeota sequences belonging to the MSP8 clade reported from geographically distant regions were detected in marine aerosols, suggesting long-distance aerial transport of the marine prokaryotes seems to been quite possible.
