Abstract The purpose of this study is to examine the number of DIF items detected by HGLM at different sample sizes. Eight different sized data files have been composed. The population of the study is 798307 students who had taken the 2006 OKS Examination. 10727 students of 798307 are chosen by random sampling method as the sample of the study. Turkish, science, and social studies subtests, all composed of 25 items and applied in the OKS-2006, are used as data gathering instruments in this… Expand

Analysis of Differential Item Functioning of PISA 2015 Mathematics Subtest Subject to Gender and Statistical Regions *
It is accepted that the presence of Differential Item Functioning (DIF) in large scale examinations may be an indication of bias. The aim of the present study was to analyze whether dichotomous (1-0)Expand

The K-SF-42
TLDR
An alternative short form for the 199-item Arizona Life History Battery is proposed, which is called the K-SF-42, as it contains 42 items as compared with the 20 items of the Mini-K, the short form that has been in greatest use for the past decade. Expand
Gambling-Related Cognition Scale (GRCS): Are Skills-Based Games at a Disadvantage?
TLDR
Findings indicate that the current structure of the GRCS contains potential biases to be considered when poker players are surveyed, and conveys new and important information on bias issues to ponder carefully before using and interpreting the G RCS and other similar wide-range instruments with poker players. Using Integrative Data Analysis to Investigate School Climate Across Multiple Informants
TLDR
This study lays the groundwork for future educational researchers interested in the practical applications of the IDA framework to empirical data sets with complex model structures via the examination of pooled data from student and teacher school climate surveys. Expand
