Comparison is made between the distribution of saddle points in the chaotic analytic function and in the characteristic polynomials of the Ginibre ensemble. Realizing the logarithmic derivative of these infinite polynomials as the electric field of a distribution of Coulombic charges at the zeros, a simple mean-field electrostatic argument shows that the density of saddles minus zeros falls off as π−1 |z|−4 from the origin. This behaviour is expected to be general for finite or infinite…

Random matrix theory and the zeros of ζ′(s)
We study the density of the roots of the derivative of the characteristic polynomial Z(U, z) of an N × N random unitary matrix with distribution given by Haar measure on the unitary group. Based on

In this article we study the limiting empirical measure of zeros of higher derivatives for sequences of random polynomials. We show that these measures agree with the limiting empirical measure of
Zeros of Random Analytic Functions
The dominant theme of this thesis is that random matrix valued analytic functions, generalizing both random matrices and random analytic functions, for many purposes can (and perhaps should) be
Nodal densities of planar gaussian random waves
Abstract. The nodal densities of gaussian random functions, modelling various physical systems including chaotic quantum eigenfunctions and optical speckle patterns, are reviewed. The nodal domains
Pairing of Zeros and Critical Points for Random Polynomials
Let p_N be a random degree N polynomial in one complex variable whose zeros are chosen independently from a fixed probability measure mu on the Riemann sphere S^2. This article proves that if we

On critical points of random polynomials and spectrum of certain products of random matrices
In the first part we study critical points of random polynomials. We choose two deterministic sequences of complex numbers, whose empirical measures converge to the same probability measure in complex

We study the pairing between zeros and critical points of the polynomial $p_n(z) = \prod_{j=1}^n(z-X_j)$, whose roots $X_1, \ldots, X_n$ are complex-valued random variables. Under a regularity
Large Deviations for the Fermion Point Process Associated with the Exponential Kernel
For the fermion point process on the whole complex plane associated with the exponential kernel $$e^{z\bar{w}}$$, we show the central limit theorem for the random variable ξ(Dr, the number of points

Random Analytic Chaotic Eigenstates
The statistical properties of random analytic functions ψ(z) are investigated as a phase-space model for eigenfunctions of fully chaotic systems. We generalize to the plane and to the hyperbolic

A natural statistical ensemble of 2J points on the unit sphere can be associated, via the Majorana representation, with a random quantum state of spin J, and an exact expression is obtained here for
