In this paper, we report the synthesis and the crystal structure of a new Zn-monosquarato complex: [Zn(HC4O4)2(OH2)4], where we have a combination of the oxygen donor and hydrogen bond acceptor capabilities of monosquarate anion, as well as its thermal behavior. From crystallographic point of view, the complex [Zn(HC4O4)2(OH2)4] is isomorphous to the already described complexes [M(HC4O4)2(OH2)4], (M = Mn, Fe, Cd) crystallized in the triclinic space group P-1.
