Smart space is one of the important applications of pervasive computing. We put the concept of smart space into the field of intelligent transportation system, and bring forward a framework of smart vehicle environment based on embedded agent. In this paper we discuss the structure and characteristics of SVE and an example of SVE is given. Its trait is utilizing embedded hardware and context-aware computing technology to unite all of the electronic equipments into a smart space, thus we can…

An OSEK COM Compliant Communication Model for Smart Vehicle Environment
This paper presents Smart Vehicle Multi-Agent System (SVMAS) to achieve the goal of SVE and put forward a commutation model for SVMAS based on SmartOSEK COM to support data exchange.
ScudWare: A Context-Aware and Lightweight Middleware for Smart Vehicle Space
ScudWare is an efficient context-aware and adaptive middleware for ubiquitous computing in smart vehicle space based on smart OSEK OS, ICAR hybrid network and TinyORB, which can gather, manage, and disseminate context information for applications easily.
Semantic and Adaptive Middleware for Data Management in Smart Vehicle Space
The two contributions of this paper are the proposal of SVA (Semantic Virtual Agent) and component-level adaptive mechanism, which uses SIP to communicate and auto-update themselves and to achieve self-adaptation and reflection of component- level, the component hook mechanism.
SmartOSEK Based Design and Verification for In-vehicle Network System: A Model-Based Approach
A model-based approach to design the in-vehicle networks and the software in ECUs with presenting a dependable platform compliant with OSEK/VDX specifications is put forward.
Model-based design and verification of automotive electronics compliant with OSEK/VDX
A model-based approach for automobile electronics software design and verification with a dependable platform compliant with OSEK/VDX standard is put forward.

Design criteria for creating highly embedded, interactive spaces that are designed to bring computation into the real, physical world to support what is traditionally considered non-computational activity are described.
Charting past, present, and future research in ubiquitous computing
Everyday computing is proposed, a new area of applications research, focussed on scaling interaction with respect to time, just as pushing the availiability of computing away from the traditional desktop fundamentally changes the relationship between humans and computers.
Designing Calm Technology
A radically new tool that communicates both light and heavy network traffic and is so beautifully integrated with human information processing that one does not even need to be looking at it or near it to take advantage of its peripheral clues.
The computer for the 21st century
[This article is unavailable due to copyright restrictions.] Specialized elements of hardware and software, connected by wires, radio waves and infrared, will soon be so ubiquitous that no-one will
