As an achievement through grasping revolution and promoting production, the crystal structure of the insulin molecule has been determined at 1.8A resolution by X-ray analysis by the method of multiple isomorphous replacement and anomalous scattering. As compared with the 2.5A stage, our present electron-density map is better resolved and shows more details. Model analysis shows that the secondary structures of the two molecules in each asymmetric unit are obviously asymmetric. Possible primary… CONTINUE READING
