The stopping cross sections of air, He, CH/sub 4/, C/sub 2/H/sub 2/, C/ sub 2/H /sub 4/, C/sub 3/H/sub 8/, (CH/sub 2/)/sub 3/, and C/sub 3/H/sub 6/ have been measured fo r protons in the energy range 40 to 250 kev. The stopping cross sections of C/sub 2/H/sub 4/ and C/sub 3/H/sub 8/ were also measured for helium ion s. The data are in good agreement with previous experimetal work, and have standard deviations between 1.5 and 4%. They clearly demonstrate the failure of the Bragg rule of… CONTINUE READING
